At 99 meters tall, it is the tallest building in Baghdad and the tallest structure in Iraq after the Baghdad Tower. Opened in 1982 as the Ishtar Sheraton Hotel & Casino, it was one of the most popular Western-run hotels in Baghdad, The hotel was renamed Cristal Grand Ishtar Hotel in March 2013.

::فندق سئ جدا ولا علاقة له حاليا بموضوع الخدمات السياحية التي نعرف . نعم كان من الفنادق الجيده ايام الثمانينات وحتى التسعينات لكن بعدها تحول لمكان اشبه بسوق قذر . حتى انك تفاجأ حين تمطر السماء خارجاً بنزول المطر في باحته الداخليه وكان حل ادارته الغير محترفه بالطبع ان يضعو دلوا لمنع انتشار مياه الامطار داخل الفندق !

::Ishtar Hotel, antiguamente el Ishtar Sheraton, a orillas del Tigris, dice la historía sagrada que el paraiso se ubicaba exactamente aquí, entre el Tigris y el Eúfrates, no me gustó conocerlo en plena época del embargo, aunque era de los que mejor mantenía el tipo y tambien su categoría.
