  Al Bataween is one of the oldest areas in Baghdad, it used to be known as the fanciest and the classiest areas in Baghdad. Many people from different religions used to live there, Christians, Jews and Muslims, my dad used to live there. This synagogue should be reopened and people should practice their religions freely. My god this area turned into a nightmare. I hope it reopens in the near future and the Jews come back someday 🙏🏼

  this was my first synagogue in Baghdad and the last one i attended before leaving the country in 2000. i loved the place . will i walk inside it again in my life time ??

  Yes, I visited this place before. When our Jewish brothers were forced to leave their country, it turned into a passport issuance department, and now it is closed.

  It is my first time to know that there is still a jewish synagogue in baghdad.....
