::A hospital that was completed entirely by Iraqi hands, without the assistance of foreign companies Maysan Child and Maternity Hospital, with a capacity of 260 beds, in the city of Amara, the governorate’s center, was opened in 2016. The hospital, completed by Al-Faw Engineering Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Construction, consists of a main building with three floors and a total area of 29,219 square metres, and includes patient lobbies containing 260 beds. It also includes housing for doctors, private nurses, and hospital workers, and contains eight main operating theaters, three other secondary theaters, in addition to four radiology rooms with an MRI room and another, a cardiac catheterization department, recovery lounges, and another central one. The hospital also includes service departments and other ancillary buildings, such as a water treatment plant. Electricity generators, tanks and sanitary facilities.
