  During my holiday in Iraq, I wanted to rent a car and made a reservation with Europcar online. When I came here, I was told that I would have to leave my passport at the rental station. This is just not possible as a foreigner in Iraq, as you have to show your passport at many checkpoints and in every hotel. Also they didn't want to let me drive to Mossul with the car. I therefore had to cancel the booking and still didn't get the 50€ cancellation fee back from the company. I then went to the nearby "Taj car rental" where they allowed me to take my passport with me and drive to Mossul. I don't know why Europcar does not allow this. To avoid the cancellation fee, it's better not to book a car with Europcar in Baghdad as a foreigner.

  A gang, they rob you from your eyes, they take your insurance, they look for faults in your car, and they fine you for it, without your insurance.

  Very slow processing of the papers. It took almost two hours to complete the papers and receive the car, and I was the only one there, meaning there were no clients. If there were two or three clients, the procedures could be taken in a whole day. I hope to speed up the paperwork and develop the work as a priority
